Every week I have a bunch of television shows that are automatically set-up to record on my DVR, and of course,  Oprah is one of them! This past weekend I had some time to catch up on some episodes and one that I especially liked featured Jessica Simpson and her new reality series that premiered last night, “Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty” on VH1. I’ve always been a big fan of Jessica, her music, and of course… her shoes, but this side of her was intense and I think she is raising a great awareness for us to see what is happening out there in the real world.

On The Price of Beauty, Jessica, and her two best friends, Cacee Cobb and celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, traveled to seven different nations to see what lengths women will go to in the name of beauty. It is heart wrenching at times to actually believe some cultures beliefs and the price people will actually pay to be beautiful in their own minds. If you missed the premiere last night you can watch the full epidsode, deleted scenes and bonus clips on VH1’s website. I find this piece fascinating and will be tuning in throughout the season, go ahead and check it out!

On a lighter note, Jessica has some really cute new sandals out this season! Although it was hard to narrow it down, my top two Jessica Simpson shoes are the Heathery sandal for $89.95 and the Jeko sandal for $69.95, both in tan. Tan is going to be my new black this summer… I can tell already by my choices!

It’s been a crazy couple of months for the Kardashian family! First, big sister Kourtney surprised us all by announcing she’s having a baby this December. Not to be outdone, Khloe Kardashian followed this announcement with a quick romance leading to an even faster rush to the alter. After dating Lakers’ star Lamar Odom for about a month, the two will be tying the knot this Sunday.

As can be expected, not everyone believes this wedding is strictly about love. The rumors flying as the nuptials approach are varied. Some think the wedding is actually a cover for Kourtney and Scott’s ceremony. Some think the wedding is strictly a publicity stunt for Keeping up with the Kardashians and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami. Some think the couple has found true love and doesn’t want to put off the inevitable. My personal favorite is the hybrid true love/publicity stunt theory. If you’re going to get married anyway, why not play it up for maximum exposure!

Regardless of the reasoning behind the madness, Khloe and Odom have already taken care of many of the mundane wedding details. The guest list has been ironed out and the registry created. The location has been selected and the ring picked up. They even held their bachelor/bachelorette parties last night.

Say it’s not so! Per People, Dancing with the Stars fan favorite Julianne Hough will not be returning to the ABC hit show next season. It sounds like she would rather create music than dance to it.

Julianne recently made an appearance at the High School Musical 3: Senior Year premier in Los Angeles. Was she looking to get some musical pointers from the stars of this popular Disney movie? I’m not sure, but I do know that she definitely didn’t need any pointers in the fashion department. She looks amazing in the slip dress and adorable pumps she chose to step out in.
